Stuart (Stu) Salen is a Stanford Law School graduate with a broad range of high-tech industry legal, corporate development, IP management and line management experience. A 30-year veteran of the high-tech industry, he has held General Counsel positions at Sun Microsystems and TruePosition (a Liberty Media subsidiary), as well as at a range of late-stage technology start-ups transitioning from development to full commercial operations. He was also the chief architect of the Sun Microsystems indirect channels model, served as lead in-house antitrust counsel, and managed Sun’s OEM Services business. With a background in engineering (and a patent holder himself), Stu can quickly add value on a wide range of issues facing technology companies in today’s fast-moving marketplace and is adept at managing legal risk without sacrificing speed and agility. His writing credits include ABA’s Antitrust Developments (editor- Third Edition), Competition (Antitrust) and Antidumping Laws in the Context of the Canada-United States Free Trade Agreement (1991), and the “Marshall Islands Nuclear Claims Tribunal Act.” Stu is a former Peace Corp volunteer (Liberia), an organic farmer, and dedicated father of nine.
