Berger Legal LLC Announces Expansion of M&A Practice Group

Berger Legal LLC is pleased to announce the expansion of its Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group with the addition of Lisa Byrns.
Ms. Byrns spent most of her career at the New York firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where she worked in the Corporate & Banking practice group. She has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, private placements, private equity transactions, securities offerings, refinancings and workouts. Ms. Byrns earned her law degree, cum laude, at Cornell Law School in 1987 and graduated from Wellesley College in 1982.
The Mergers & Acquisitions team is led by Michael Harris. Mr. Harris previously was the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of The Thomson Corporation (now Thomson Reuters) where he held executive-level positions from 1989 until his retirement from Thomson in 2002. At Thomson, Mr. Harris was responsible for negotiating and completing hundreds of tactical and strategic acquisitions in the information and publishing industries, including West Publishing, Harcourt General and Primark.
