Mihal Nahari practices corporate and securities law, with expertise in regulatory, governance, compliance and ethics related matters for banks, broker dealers, asset managers and other financial institutions. She has extensive knowledge of current regulatory/risk management requirements and experience working with global regulators, including the Federal Reserve, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the European Securities and Markets Authority, the Japanese Financial Services Agency and the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Mihal started her career as an associate with Shea & Gould and, later, at Butler Fitzgerald & Potter, P.C. where she represented a broad range of financial institutions. She worked in-house at Morgan Stanley where she served as the Global Head of Anti-Money Laundering & OFAC Compliance and as Chief Compliance Officer for the Retail and Private Wealth Management businesses. Most recently, Mihal was the Chief Audit Executive for the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, a federally designated systemically important market utility, where she was responsible for assessing and providing independent reporting to the DTCC Board on all areas of internal controls, including those related to credit, market and liquidity risk management, operational resilience, cybersecurity, data privacy, insider risk and technology risk management. Mihal received her BA as a Henry Rutgers Scholar from Rutgers College, Rutgers University and her JD from Fordham University School of Law where he served on the Editorial Board of the Fordham Law Review. She is licensed to practice law in New York and Connecticut. As a first generation American, Mihal is passionate about diversity and inclusion and is currently Treasurer and Board Member of Paradigm for Parity, a not-for-profit coalition of current and former business leaders, that supports companies around the world in achieving their commitment to gender parity including racial equity in corporate leadership.
